Science Bowl is a quiz bowl-style contest where students are tested in their skills pertaining to sciences such as biology, physics, and chemistry. Sponsored by the DOE, the official contest is prestigious and an important opportunity for students to grow in their STEM abilities. Teams are composed of 4-5 students, and 4 compete in each round. This allows for one member to take a break. They compete in timed rounds where teams are allowed to answer tossup questions where anyone can answer (no conferring), and if they get those correct, they are allowed an opportunity to answer a bonus question that the opposing team is unable to attempt to answer. Scores are summed, and the team with the higher score wins each round.
